Walk Sunday May 14th 2023

Surprises...Life is full of them and this week it's no different. A few of us have been down with horrible old viruses (Viri?) and coupled with other family events out of our control, the walk this week will be just the one. Around Lough Easkey, an old favourite led by me. Call it a C+ walk, the start, around the lake may be a tad muddy after all the rain, but after that it is a forestry track. About 12 -13 km long, there is negligible climbing and there will be plenty of time to admire the views which are kinda nice around there. Should be out for just over 4 hours including breaks. We will meet at the car park, north end of L Easkey. From Boyle you can go through Tubbercurry, take the road to Cloonacool, and the right turn to Lough Easkey, is east of Cloonacool. This is the shortage by km. However, a bit longer, but a much better road, is Collooney, Ballisodare. N59 through Dromore West. Shortly after Dromore West (1km) is a left turn, signposted L Easkey, which takes you to L Easkey from the North side. So take your pick. I would love to see you there around 11:30.
