Walk Sunday 23rd April 2023.
Posted on: Sat 22nd April 3:44pm
Good evening fellow travellers,
As with every year, when the calendar is planned well in advance, something will always crop up to disrupt well intentioned plans. So this Sunday, as Frances is unable to do the O'Donnell's rock walk, Philip has kindly stepped in. (Frances will take the O'Donnell's rock walk in September) Philip has planned a good C walk. Starting at the Leitrim canal, following it to the Kilclare loop around Sheemore and back.
Sheemore is otherwise known as the Hill of the Fairies, so watch out for them, dancing in and out of fairy trees as you ascend. There are 3 megalithic tombs and a few ringforts here as well. If anyone can play the tin whistle and knows O'Carolans composition...Si Bheag, Si Mhor all the better. Bring it on.
Want to come? Meet at the first lock, Leitrim village at 12 noon and as always, if you have a question, phone Philip 086 335 3000. Well questions about the walk anyway, not about gardening or building or anything.
ALSO Free, yes free gaiters going if anyone wants them. One medium and one large pair. Naomi has these.
