Walk Sunday 28th November 2021
Posted on: Fri 26th November 12:52am
Weather permitting, Philip is going to lead a walk up Nephin on Sunday next. This is a tough climb. We will be out for 5 hours. It is a B+ walk.
Note the weather conditions have changed, and anybody coming must be properly equipped with adequate clothing. Waterproofs and spare warm clothing, including gloves, hat etc. Plan is to meet at Leonards pub, Laherdaun, County Mayo at 10am. Eircode for this is F26 CV60. Contact Philip 086 335 3000.
The other walk on the calendar is for Oakport with Tom. Unfortunately, Tom was called away and is unable to lead this walk. If anybody else can lead a C walk...maybe the same one, Oakport, Clonakilla castle, please let me know and I will put it out there.
NB A mistake on the calendar for 28th December. I put Philip down for another walk, but of course this is our christmas walk and there will only be the one sociable walk with Tom. Slieve Aneirin will be another day.
Yay, Never stuck for volunteers, Noreen has kindly put herself forward as facilitator for a C walk on Sunday. Being one of our most democratic members, she is facilitating, not leading the walk at Oakport / Cloonakilla. But make sure you do what you are told.
Instead of meeting as per calendar at 11am, Noreen is allowing an extra hour in the leaba, and the meeting place will be at the entrance to Oakport wood at 12 midday. A sociable flat walk for all.
