Walk Sunday August 15th 2021
Posted on: Sat 14th August 6:32am
You were probably all holding your breath in anticipation of this weeks email. Well here it is ....
The walk is with Cmdt Henk up Leean mountain from the old military road and a meander over to and up Fawnlion. About 9km long with the highest cimb being no more than 350m. Out for about 3 hours.
Meet at Doon Lough on the R278 at 11:30. Where the hell is that? Well, you go past Sligo hospital and head down to the traffic lights. Turn right at those lights. Then take first left and that is the R278. Follow this for some way in to County Leitrim until you hit the lake on the left hand side. Nearest Eircode is F916X93.
What would we do without them?
Meant to say boots would be most advisable for this walk. Apart from ankle support, it could be a tad muddy in spots.....
