The walk on Sunday...27th November, is led by not one, but two beautiful ladies. Denise and Caroline will head out along the Crossna famine walk. 12km over road, track and woods. Flat with a scattering?of hills. The walk will include lovely views of Lough Key and Arigna Mountains. Boots could come in handy as it may be mucky in spots. Meet Crescent, Boyle 11am or at Clancys pub Knockvicar at 11:20am Eircode for Clancys is F52 HP86. And of course Clancys is good for a drink if you fancy.one AFTER the walk. This is C walk. Now this is a famine walk but that does not mean you have to starve, so bring along a bit of lunch and a drink. November 27th is also St Catherine of Alexandrias Feast Day. A long?history here but suffice to say she was a beautiful gal who stuck to her principles. Old Emperor Maxentius wanted to marry her, and when she said, Nay, he had her flogged and imprisoned for several days without food. That was no problem. A dove fed her through her prison window. Then Maxentius had a spiked wheel constructed...the Catherine Wheel on which she was tied, but when the wheel was set in motion, the spikes came off and pierced the onlookers. Anyway if you want more information (about the walk) Ask Caroline 086 406 5610 or Denise 086 234 2999
